Zanele Muholi at dOCUMENTA 13

Faces & Phases by visual activist Zanele Muholi, South Africa at the contemporary art festival dOCUMENTA 13, Kassel, Germany. Zanele presents a new series of her astonishing portraits – a wall of 60 large-scale lesbian and transgender subjects from several African countries. These works are part of the ongoing ‘Faces and Phases’ project in which Muholi seeks to bring visibility to LGBTQ communities.

dOCUMENTA 13 opens on June 9 and runs thru September 16, 2012.
