Corpus Queer – A Exhibition by Del LaGrace Volcano

Corpus Queer comes to Birmingham, UK. The show spans over twenty five years of photographic exploration by Del LaGrace Volcano, a gender variant visual artist. From female masculinity to feminist femme fatales this exhibition includes images never before seen in the United Kingdom. This is the first time this major collection of photographic works by Del LaGrace Volcano will be shown in one place. Del LaGrace is a female to male transsexual. Along with work from his five monographs, (as both Della Grace and Del LaGrace Volcano), there will also be contact sheets, press clippings and other ephemera from an extraordinary art practice.
Corpus Queer is curated by Lisa Metherell, Robert Gibb and Del LaGrace Volcano. The show runs from three weeks at

as part of the SHOUT festival, Birmingham’s first celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans culture, taking place throughout November 2009. The organizers of the show promise that it contains some explicit images.
Del’s monographs
Del has produced five monographs from 1991-2009 – Femmes of Power: Exploding Queer Femininities (2009), Sex Works (2005), Sublime Mutations (2000), The Drag King Book (1999) and Love Bites (1991).
