Book – In Visible Archives: Queer and Feminist Visual Culture in the 1980s

New York Comics & Picture-story Symposium writes, ‘Previewing a chapter of her forthcoming book, Galvan’s talk showcases the vital feminist and gay comics that Lee Marrs and Roberta Gregory made in the late 1970s and early 1980s and how they used their comics to critique both the underground comix scene and feminist movement and also build community for lesbian cartoonists. Galvan will also discuss the role of comics in her larger book project, In Visible Archives: Queer and Feminist Visual Culture in the 1980s, which is out this fall from University of Minnesota Press.’
