About Ester Fleckner

Ester Fleckner earned their MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. They also hold a MA in Gender and Culture from Goldsmiths, University of London. They have lived and worked in Berlin and are now based on Møn, Denmark. Ester Fleckner’s practice expands from the woodcuts to include cast concrete sculptures, drawings, text work and performative readings. Working from queer and trans epistemologies, she inverts the value of failure, unfinishedness, and displacement to arrive at chaotic and intuitive ways of knowing. Her latest solo exhibition is Slow Tools (2023) at Kunstverein Freiburg in Germany.
