Maxine Fine Retrospective Opens Soon
Art historian Flavia Rando, founding member of the Astraea Lesbian Visual Arts Committee, has curated a retrospective exhibition of works of art by late lesbian artist Maxine Fine (1942-2003). Maxine was one of the pioneering members of the Lesbian Art Movement in USA. Her work was published in the 1977 Lesbian issue of Heresies, and she exhibited in “A Lesbian Show” in USA in 1978. The retrospective opens with a wine and cheese reception November 12th 6-8pm. and runs from November 12th to December 12th, 2008, in gallery onetwentyeight, New York, USA.
