Assume Nothing is a book, a photo exhibition by gay visual artist Rebecca Swan, New Zealand, and a film featuring a series of video portraits of Rebecca’s sitters by filmmaker Kristy McDonald.
Assume Nothing, the film
is a joyous celebration and exploration of the lives of five gender variant New Zealanders of Maori, Samoan-Japanese and Pakeha-European decent, through a collage of Super8, fun animations, family photos, body parts and gender theory.
