GOWEST Contemporary Art Exhibition

We are not told to go to the wild American west, but to Altona, west of Melb0urne, Australia. In their online visual arts programme the 2011 Midsumma Festival writes ‘Liberate your boundaries for the second annual GOWEST contemporary Art Exhibition. Showcasing the creative queer best from Melbourne’s West, in Melbourne’s West.  This is contemporary art with attitude – slick, savvy, serious and bittersweet.’

The GLBTIQ artists with a queer attitude are: Sharon Lam, Sue Manski, Michael O’Hanlon, Victoria Saray, Michelle Thompson and Ri Van Veen. The group show is curated by Tamara Watt.
