Ingrid Pollard — Hasselblad Award Winner 2024

That same day, an exhibition of Ingrid Pollard’s work will open at the Hasselblad Center and a new publication about the artist will be released.

About Ingrid Pollard

[Ingrid] Pollard is a mixed-media artist and researcher who uses digital, analog, and alternative photographic processes. She also incorporates printmaking, image-text and artist books, installation, video, and audio. Pollard studied film and video at the London College of Printing and has an MA in photographic studies from the University of Derby and a PhD from the University of Westminster. She was one of twenty founding members of Autograph (the Association of Black Photographers) and is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society. In 2018, Pollard was the Inaugural Stuart Hall Research Fellow. She has been an artist-in-residence at many organizations, including Project Row Houses in Houston, Texas, and Croydon College of Art in the UK. Her work has been exhibited widely, including at Tate Britain; the Victoria & Albert Museum; Photographers Gallery, London; and NGBK, Berlin to name a few. In 2019 she received the BALTIC Artists’ Award and was a recipient of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award. – Yale British Art
