Interview with Liliana Zeic (2021)
Video (11:20): Our EMAP/EMARE 2021 resident artist Liliana Zeic tells us about her research project Gently Running Downwards exploring the online rhetoric and reactions of the far-right in Poland. From an antisemitic conspiracy theory around “cultural marxism” and hateful anti-LGBTQA+ messaging, to organised ultra-Catholic campaigns in Poland, the project is an examination of the mechanisms of exclusion, structural violence and punishment that have emerged from far-right strategies of stigmatisation in recent years.
