We are proud to announce the upcoming schedule of events for the 2015-2016 the Leslie-Lohman Speakers Series. This ongoing series of lectures will focus on creating an environment and opportunity for studio based artists to interact with a public audience of diverse backgrounds, encouraging a dialogue between artist and audience. Lectures are free, and open to the public. All lectures start at 6:30 unless otherwise noted.
November 19, 2015 – Barbara Hammer
The Hidden Hammer. Artist reveals the breadth of her work beyond film and video.
December 1,2,3, 2015 – Demetrea & Rebekah Dewald
NYC Premier of Let the Record Show. Director and producer, along with artists from the film, discuss the project. This talk starts at 6:00.
February 25, 2016 – Leon Mostovoy
Transgender artist will talk about his recent work, prior to his Prince St. Project Space opening.
March 14, 2016 – Amelia Jones
Curator, critic and art historian presents thoughts about queer performance art.
April 27, 2016 – Sophia Wallace
Creator of CLITERACY, 100 Natural Laws, 2012, discussed past, present and future projects.
