Damen Herren Holz & Kohle (Women Men Wood & Coal), a retrospective by Martina Minette Dreier at PINK.ART in Berlin presents the artist’s works from Prenzlauer Berg in the 1990s. Monochrome, soot-dark facades, blinded windows, drawn blinds, bricked-up doors, weathered shop signs. Firewalls. The indestructible dandelions and the tiles of torn-out stoves on the side of the road added a splash of colour.

Martina Minette Dreier was constantly out and about in the neighbourhood with a camera and sketchbook, documenting what she found and creating multi-part, large-format oil paintings of it.
