The Queer Ancestors Project
Artist and printmaker Katie Gilmartin writes about The Queer Ancestors Project: ‘[it] is devoted to forging sturdy relationships between LGBTQI people and our ancestors. Using history as a linchpin, we build community by providing young Queer adults (age 18 to 26) and (occasionally) senior adults (50+) free interdisciplinary workshops in printmaking, writing, and Queer history. Public exhibitions and readings of their work provide a window on the past through which the larger community can glimpse our collective future.’
The workshops are taking place from January through April 2015 at Chrysalis Studio, SOMArts Cultural Center in San Francisco, USA.
