The QWOCMAP Are Celebrating Their 10th Anniversary

QWOCMAP LogoQueer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) promotes the creation, exhibition and distribution of new films and videos that increase the visibility of queer women of color, authentically reflect our life stories, and address the vital social justice issues that concern their communities in USA.

They actively invest in, develop and nurture the creativity of emerging media artists who are Asian/Pacific Islander, Black/African American, Chicana/Latina, Native American and Mixed-Race lesbians, bisexual, queer and questioning women in the Bay Area in California. Each year, QUEER WOMEN OF COLOR MEDIA ARTS PROJECT offers 4 free Filmmaking Workshops through their award-winning Training Program. Their workshops serve queer women of color – from teenagers to elders.

QWOCMAP began in 2000, and has been training filmmakers and presenting films by queer women of color since then! QWOCMAP is celebrating their 10th anniversary this month. Congratulation to Madeleine Lim, T. Kebo Drew, Liliana Hueso and all their students.
